Sandhya Saeman is a professional therapist committed to treating individuals with different backgrounds. Her clinical interests lie in treating individual and family issues in periods of transition, perfectionism, and losses. Sandhya uses a systemic and strengths-based approach in working with clients on their relationships. Using an integrative model of change, she highlights the strengths of different theories to fit the client’s identified needs. She believes there are constraints in a client’s life that impede his or her ability to identify and reach goals. Using this perspective, Sandhya can begin on a behavioral level to help the client to work on changes in action, and if the client continues to feel stuck, the treatment continues to address cognitions and underlying emotions in order to identify where progress is constrained. Sandhya displays patience with the process of treatment and provides a safe and secure relationship with which clients can process their vulnerabilities.
Sandhya received her bachelor’s degree in social work and master’s degree in mental health therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has extensive training in crisis intervention, family relationships across generations, adolescent issues, and high-risk populations. Sandhya has several years of experience counseling clients with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and many other challenges. Her background enables her to be an extremely effective therapist who is comfortable counseling diverse groups of people.
